Book Donation Policy
Thank you for thinking of the Library as a beneficiary for book donations from your personal collection. Biblioteca Nacional Aruba is committed to providing an outstanding collection of materials that reflects the needs and interests of our community members of all ages and backgrounds. We can accept books in excellent condition with a current information value. You may bring these items to any location (Information desk).
There is a cost associated in processing all additions to the collection, so we apply criteria as to what to we can include in our collection.. We cannot provide receipts, nor do we return any donated item. Each book will be evaluated by professional librarians specialized in collection development. If the title is determined to meet the criteria by which potential selections are evaluated, we will be happy to add the title to the collection. If the material does not meet our criteria, we will sell the books at our annual Book sale.
Magazines donated will be used for our service to patients at the H.O. Oduber hospital.
Donations by Aruban Authors: We have noted and an emerging group of authors living on our island. Local interest and connections are always taken into consideration when selecting titles for the collection. Aruban authors and poets wishing to donate a copy of their work to the Library are welcome to do so.
