New book for the Caribbean collection
We are pleased to announce the library received a donation today. Two books were donated by visitors from London, titled ‘Doing nothing is not an option: the radical lives of Eric & Jessica Huntley’ by Margaret Andrews published by Krik Krak in England and ‘Garveyite Narratives: along the journey’ by Eric Huntley published by Bogle L’Ouverture Publications. Bogle “’Ouverture Publications provides a platform for African Caribbean writers to articulate their cultural and social experiences. Both titles will be added to the Caribbean book collection. (Caribiana, Bachstraat # 5)
‘Doing nothing is not an option: the radical lives of Eric & Jessica Huntley’ is a book about Eric and Jessica Huntley, pioneering Black political and social activists and radical book publishers born in what then was, British Guiana. They moved to England in the 1950’s and were active in political and social issues relating to the British African-Caribbean community’s in and around London.
